The Statistics of Mainland-Hong Kong Trade and Economic Cooperation in January-June 2015
Mainland-Hong Kong trade volume in January-June 2015 amounted to US$146.3 billion, down 8.6% year on year, accounting for 7.8% of the mainland’s total foreign trade volume. The mainland’s export to Hong Kong was US$141.95 billion, down 8.3% year on year, and the mainland’s import from Hong Kong was US$4.35 billion, down 18.9% year on year. Hong Kong is the mainland’s 4th largest trade partner and the 3rd largest export market.
In June 2015, the mainland-Hong Kong trade volume was US$27.42 billion, down 3.1% year on year and up 3.4% month on month. The mainland’s export to Hong Kong was US$26.46 billion, down 3.4% year on year and up 2.6% month on month, and the mainland’s import from Hong Kong was US$960 million, up 6.7% year on year and up 33.3% month on month.
II. Investment from Hong Kong
In January-June 2015, a total of 6,046 Hong Kong-funded projects were approved in the mainland, up 9.8% year on year, and the actually utilized Hong Kong capital was US$46.67 billion, up 12.6% year on year.
In June 2015, a total of 1,158 Kong-funded projects were approved in the mainland, up 34% month on month and the actually utilized Hong Kong capital was US$9.05 billion, up 51.8% month on month.
By the end of June 2015, as many as 379,113 Hong Kong-invested projects were approved in the mainland, and the actually utilized Hong Kong capital was US$793.6 billion, accounting for 49.9% of the total foreign investment absorbed in the mainland.
III. Mainland-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation
In January-June 2015, the mainland had 84 contracted projects in Hong Kong with a total value of US$3.19 billion. The turnover amounted to US$2.11 billion and the number of laborers dispatched to Hong Kong was 51,278. By the end of June 2015, the accumulated turnover of the mainland in Hong Kong had amounted to US$49.19 billion.
