Automobile exports rose over 50 percent compared to the same period last year
From January to July, the production and sales of automobiles both exceeded 10 million, up by 44 percent and 43 percent, respectively, compared with the same period last year, with the growth rate dropping 5 percent, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Aug. 24.
In July, automobile sales rose by 15 percent compared with the same period last year and decreased by 12 percent compared with last month.
The economical operation of major automobile enterprises maintained a good development momentum. In the first half of 2010, automobile enterprises above the designated size have cumulatively achieved the total industrial output value of over 208.6 billion yuan, up by 49 percent compared with the same period last year.
While automobile exports rose again gradually, imports rose rapidly. In the first half of 2010, the national total volume of exports and imports of automobiles reached nearly 50.663 billion U.S. dollars, up by 84 percent compared with the same period last year.
The volumes of exports and imports were about 27.2 billion and 23.4 billion U.S. dollars, respectively, and rose by 130 percent and 50 percent, respectively, compared with the same period last year. The imports and exports of finished automobiles reached to about 388,200 and 250,000 vehicles, respectively, up by 166 percent and 56 percent, respectively.
